ENGINEERING HUB

Measure clearly.
Calculate consistently.

Practical SI tools for commissioning checks. Each result shows its assumptions and method so it can be checked against the approved design.

CALCULATOR

Sensible heat duty

Check the sensible energy transfer carried by a measured air or liquid stream.

Method and scope

Signed kW = ρ (kg/m³) × Q (m³/s) × cₚ (kJ/kg·K) × (T_out − T_in).

Enter fluid-specific density and heat capacity. Defaults represent approximate ordinary water properties only. For air use its actual density and a suitable specific heat; latent moisture loads and refrigerant enthalpy are excluded.

The pre-filled numbers are illustrative examples. Replace them with measured values or verified project inputs. Calculations do not save data or alter equipment.

Measured flow at fluid conditions.
Approximate air starting value: 1.2. Water example: 998.
Approximate air starting value: 1.006. Water example: 4.18.
Temperature differences have the same numeric value in K and °C.
